About Regenerative Economy Forum | REFORU
Women, who are disproportionately represented among the world’s poor, are also overexposed to the impacts of climate change. Regenerative solutions which consider equity, climate and gender can accelerate climate action while advancing gender equality and social inclusion. Women are key agents of change in land restoration efforts, bringing unique knowledge, skills, and perspectives that enhance sustainability and community resilience. Recognising and supporting their contributions is essential for the success of restoration initiatives and as we move forward it is imperative to ensure that women are not just participants but leaders in the movement to restore our planet.

Our Goals and Objectives
- To promote women’s rights and advocate for policies and practices for gender equality in relation to land and forest tenure.
- To empower Women to play a vital Role in Climate Adaptation and Regenerative Agriculture.
- To empower women to practice sustainable agriculture as a strategic necessity in combating climate change and ensuring food security.
- To empower Women to participate in a Green Economy.
Upskilling women to adopt green business practices is a powerful catalyst for change. We work to empower women micro-entrepreneurs, artisans and producers, particularly within marginalized and urban communities. Focusing on sustainable natural fibre and regenerative agricultural value chains, such as banana, bamboo and non-timber forest produce, we upskill women to adopt green business practices and connects them with national and global markets for natural and biodegradable products.
As a result, women producers are rising out of poverty by building sustainable, rural livelihoods that also support conservation and biodiversity. Our interventions have impacted more than 500,000 women producers, creating markets for women and empowering women from marginalized communities in rural areas. We support women to take ownership of their collective enterprises, which are environmental, social, and corporate governance compliant.
What We Do
Land Restoration

Recognizing this opportunity, the Ugandan government has made commitments to the Bonn Challenge.
